May he be punished himself?
Every civil officer of the United States may be impeached by the House of Representatives, tried before the Senate, and, if found guilty, may be turned out of office. The crimes for which this is done are chiefly treason and bribery. Treason is making war against the United States or providing aid and comfort to her enemies, in an endeavor to resist or overturn the government. Bribery refers to the unlawful receiving of money or assets by an officer of the government, including the President, in return for engaging in and or neglecting some function of his office.
