Is their an inherent flaw in a tax upon income?

The inherent flaw of income tax is that it does not treat all people equally, whereas a tax on goods does treat all people equally. An income tax allows for tyranny, as the government can choose to punish some people with higher taxes and reward others with lower taxes. It allows the government to use taxation as a weapon or a bribe upon its own citizens.
